A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to nonexistent email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss messages because the other party has an outdated address or has made a spelling mistake. The downside of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of unsolicited bulk emails, but this issue can be solved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also essential to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound emails to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
Creating a catch-all email mailbox will be amazingly easy if you have a Linux cloud hosting with our company. You can activate this option through our powerful, yet user-friendly Email Manager tool, which is an integral part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage the shared hosting account itself. You will find all the email addresses that you’ve set up displayed alphabetically and to the right of each of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly show you if a certain mailbox stores all the emails for a certain domain or not. With a single mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate the feature whenever you like. In case there is active email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a given domain, you will receive a warning note from our system. The latter will not deactivate/replace anything automatically and without your permission.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all email address can be created with a few clicks if you have a Linux semi-dedicated service with us. The hosting account will be managed via our custom-developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to create email addresses with any domain name hosted there. To enable the catch-all functionality for a given mailbox, you will need to click on the symbol with the exact same name, which will be to the right of each mailbox. Disabling this option can be achieved in the exact same fashion and will not take more than one click either. If a catch-all mailbox has already been activated for a particular domain name, you’ll get a warning message. The same goes if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never disable or modify anything automatically.
